March 22, 2023 was Match Day – the day our fourth-year medical students found out where they’ll complete residency – the next step in their medical education journey.
It’s an emotional, and exciting day commemorating the hard work and accomplishments of this class. NOSMU has an outstanding record for students matching with the residency program of their choice and here are the results:
Students matched to a wide range of specialties including internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, urology, cardiac surgery, radiology, radiation oncology, psychiatry, physical medicine & rehabilitation, anesthesia, neurology, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, dermatology, plastic surgery and emergency medicine.
About 22% of NOSMU graduates will be doing their residency program in Northern Ontario.
A map of Canada with matches will be on display starting Monday, March 27 in the display case located behind Health Records.
Congratulations and all the best to the class of 2023! We will welcome the new class of medical students on April 24.
