The Lakehead University Native Student Association (LUNSA) is excited to be hosting 33rd Annual Powwow at the CJ Sanders Fieldhouse, March 10-12, 2023.  

LUNSA is honoured to have Hope Lake as the Host Drum. Lakehead University students and the Thunder Bay community will gather together in celebration of Indigenous culture and dance. You can find more details here.

The goals of LUNSA are to promote the spirit of unity among Indigenous students at Lakehead University through social, cultural, and recreational events in addition to promoting cultural awareness between club members and the greater Lakehead University student population. The annual powwow is LUNSA’s signature event that showcases tremendous talent and entertainment, free of charge, while reinforcing traditional aspects of Indigenous culture such as drumming, dancing, singing, and giving thanks.

Recognition O’Grams will be running until March 2 at 12:00 p.m. so get your order in now so you don’t miss out! Order through the Hospital’s iNtranet today at https://erw-recognition.tbrhsc.net/.

Delivery of Recognition O’Grams is scheduled for Friday, March 3.

After that, you can still recognize the great work of your colleagues through a Thank You E-Card and Thumbs Up Posts to gain an additional ballot to our Prize Draws.

As you may be aware, ONA will be conducting Information Pickets this Thursday regarding their province-wide negotiations. While picket lines are not permitted on Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Property, you may encounter information pickets at our Oliver and Golf Links Road entrances.

Picketers are allowed to communicate information including handing out flyers. You are encouraged to allow for some extra time on this day for accessing the property.

We ask employees to:

1. Be polite, respectful and courteous; remember that we are colleagues.
2. Attend work as scheduled and on time;
3. If you experience any unusual or difficult situations, do not try to deal with it personally. Instead, report your experience to your Manager, Administrative Coordinator or to Human Resources immediately.
