Describing his childhood in Northern Canada, Dr. Christopher Mushquash said, “The one thing that I always had was Ideas. I thought about things a lot, I thought about things deeply.”

Dr. Mushquash was awarded a 2023 Canada Gairdner Momentum Award “For Indigenous-led mental health and substance use research that leads to culturally and contextually appropriate services for Indigenous children, adolescents, and adults.”
