Each year thousands of medical students graduate and become resident physicians in Canada.

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) is home to 75 Thunder Bay based residents in medical specialties such as Family Medicine, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, General Surgery, Internal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, we hosted 156 elective residents in 2023 from other medical schools across Canada.

With Resident Awareness Week (February 5 – 9) upon us, we want to take the time to recognize the contributions of our residents.

Medical residents are integral members of the care team; they work many long hours and give years of their lives to providing exceptional care to their patients. They are committed learners, leaders and care providers.

For all they do, TBRHSC would like to recognize and thank our residents for their dedication, achievements and tremendous contributions to excellence in care across our organization.
