On November 3, 2024, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) will be in a position to strike, which will stop all mail delivery and services through Canada Post. Updates are being posted on the Canada Post and CUPW websites and we will communicate as we learn more information.
In the event of a labour disruption, Canada Post will not operate. Mail and parcels will not be delivered, and no new items will be accepted. Any mail and parcels within the postal system during a work disruption will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume. As such, mass mail outs are not recommended during this period of uncertainty.
As a precaution, we recommend that any time sensitive information be mailed as soon as possible to avoid delivery disruption. We will receive no less than 72 hours’ notice of a labour disruption, at which point our Mail room will cease mail delivery to Canada Post.
Should we receive notice, urgent items may be brought to Shipping/Receiving to be shipped Purolator via our standard process. We have secured the services of a local Courier who will deliver any local mail that requires delivery within a 2-3 day delivery window.
