Kasey Etreni’s Retirement

Shared on behalf of David McConnell, Manager, Radiation Therapy and Surgical Oncology

Please join me in congratulating Kasey Etreni on her retirement from the Radiation Therapy Department in the Cancer Program, effective January 30, 2022.

After graduating from Princess Margaret School of Radiation Therapy in 1986, Kasey began working for the Northwestern Ontario Regional Cancer Care, Cancer Centre at the Port Arthur General Hospital. Throughout the late 1990’s and 2000’s Kasey was highly involved with the various professional associations including the OAMRT and the CAMRT. Kasey supported advancing professional development activities and the transformation in Radiation Therapy education to a degree based program.

Kasey was highly dedicated not only to her profession as a Radiation Therapist but also to improvements and advancements in patient care. Kasey spent time conducting research and brining clinical trials opportunities to our program and she also led the breast cancer disease site working group and supported the advancement of our breast treatment techniques locally.

Since 2011, Kasey has been the Charge Radiation Therapist for the department, providing leadership and guidance. She has supported the day to day operations of the clinic and liaising with other departments.

Outside of the work setting, Kasey is an active member of the community, volunteering for the Thunder Bay Woman’s Hockey Association and with Camp Quality Northwestern Ontario for many years.

It has been a pleasure to work with Kasey over the years. Her dedication to the program and our patients has been tremendous, her passion and tenacity will be missed.
