I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Darolyn Hryciw as the Charge for Respiratory Services, effective February 27, 2023.

Reporting to the Critical Care Services Coordinator and Manager, Darolyn will be responsible for the daily supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Services staff.

Darolyn is well known to the staff and professional staff at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC). Darolyn began working at TBRHSC in 2000 as a Staff Respiratory Therapist. In 2002, she moved on to work in the Operating Room (OR) and was the Operating Rooms Only Respiratory Therapist. There, Darolyn developed, established and evolved the daily role of the Respiratory Therapist. In 2010, Darolyn received her advanced diploma of Anesthesia Assistant and was integral in establishing the Anesthesia Assistant role at TBRHSC.

Darolyn also assisted in the implementation of PFCC initiatives in the OR, capital and minor budget planning. She was the Anesthesia Lead for the proposal and procurement process for gas machines and the renewal of Inhaled anesthetic gas and Medbuy contracts.
