An outbreak of COVID has been declared on 2B as of Friday September 1, 2023. All restrictions are in place.
Please share this information with the appropriate staff.
As always, our number one priority is the safety of patients and their families, staff and visitors. All patients identified as having an exposure to this outbreak will require isolation with appropriate additional precautions.
The department of Infection Prevention and Control encourages everyone to keep applying the routine practices of hand hygiene, proper use of PPE, equipment cleaning, and the appropriate admission screening of all patients. Please set an example for staff and students and assist us by maintaining compliance and due diligence.

Patient Billing is saddened to announce the recent loss of a fellow coworker.
Samantha Winters passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2023.
Samantha was employed by Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for over 10 years. She was beautiful, kind-hearted, funny and was an important and hard working part of our team. Everyone from Patient Billing would like to send their deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone she worked with.
A celebration of life will take place at the Current River Rec Centre on August 22, 2023 commencing at 1:00 p.m.
Please note that underground electrical repairs will be occurring near the South G Lot exit.
The South G Lot entry/exit is set to reopen Wednesday, August 23.
During this time, G Lot users will access the lot through the North G Lot entry/exit (formerly known as ‘H Lot’).

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we regret to inform you of the passing of one of our colleagues – Stephen Mason.
Stephen recently joined the Housekeeping department in July. He was always very polite, helpful, and eager to learn. He will be truly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 30th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 (229 Van Norman St). The Hospital flags will be also lowered to half-mast on this date to show our respect to the family during this difficult time.
