We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Alonso Alvarado-Bolaños has joined the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as a full-time Interventional Neurologist in the Department of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Alvarado-Bolaños graduated from the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Mexico City, where he honed his skills in neurology. Following this, he completed a two-year fellowship in Stroke Neurology at Western University in London, Ontario, along with completing further specialization in Neurovascular Therapy through The Charles G. Drake Clinical Fellowship.

His dedication to advancing stroke care is evident through his extensive research contributions, including multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and active participation in clinical trials. Dr. Alvarado-Bolaños is passionate about improving patient outcomes and is committed to being a valuable resource for our community.

Let’s all extend a warm welcome to Dr. Alonso Alvarado-Bolaños as he becomes an integral part of our hospital and community!
