On Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2:00 a.m., clocks and watches spring ahead one hour (Daylight Saving Time).

The accuracy of time is very important to ensuring safety at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

It is of importance not only for scheduling procedures and staffing, but also for charting accuracy and medication dispensing. 

At 2:00 a.m. all electronic clocks that are controlled by the system (NICU, ICU, etc.) will be moved ahead to Daylight Saving Time automatically. Any final adjustments will be completed by 5:00 a.m.

If any of these system clocks are not updated by 8:00 a.m., please contact the Maintenance Department (ext. 6344).  All departments will be responsible for changing the time on any battery-operated clocks in their area. Computers will automatically change to reflect the time change. 

Please ensure that your personal watches/devices are updated and that any clocks in your area are adjusted in a timely manner.

The next phase of terrazzo flooring repairs will start on Monday, February 24, and are expected to last two weeks, until Friday, March 7. 

This phase will begin at the West Entrance doors at the main lobby, please see the map below. Work will occur overnight between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. but the work area will be closed off to protect the area and equipment and to ensure the safety of staff, patients and visitors.

Areas Impacted:

• West Entrance doors will be closed. Staff, patients and visitors are to use the Main Entrance doors (at the revolving door).
• Interior Regional Cancer Care (RCC) entrance will be closed. Cancer patients are to use the exterior RCC doors at Radiation Therapy.
• Vending machines will be removed for the duration of work. Alternate machines are located in the Diagnostic Imaging and Surgical Day Care waiting rooms.
