Closure of Onsite Third Dose COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

Shared on behalf of Jennifer Wintermans, EVP, Communications and Corporate Relations, COVID-19 Lead and Adam Vinet, EVP, Patient Experience and Chief Nursing Executive, Planning and Operations, and RVP, Cancer Services, North West, Ontario Health IMS Section Lead

Due to decreasing demand for appointment bookings, the Hospital’s onsite Third Dose COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic will be closing following the last day of operation on Wednesday, February 9th.

The Clinic, which opened on November 11th, 2021, has provided a convenient option for all Hospital staff, professional staff, learners and volunteers to get their third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (“booster shot”) and the added protection that it offers. Over 2,500 third doses were provided through the Clinic which operated Monday to Friday in the beginning and gradually decreased hours based on vaccine service requests.

We would like to thank the team that took part in planning and operationalizing this clinic as well as the incredible staff that worked to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to our staff, professional staff, learners and volunteers. Your work has been instrumental in creating a safer environment for our Hospital and our community.

Upon closure, this space will be considered for our high-risk inpatient vaccination clinic.

Thank you again to everyone who was involved in this extremely important work.
