Dr. Ajay Kamath Nileshwar

Dr. Nileshwar, a graduate of Kasturba Medical College, completed his residency in ophthalmology. He has been a practicing Ophthalmologist at the Saqr Hopsital in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. He has now joined the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as a full-time Ophthalmologist in the Department of Surgery.
Outside his professional life, Dr. Nileshwar enjoyes exploring nature by going on hikes and loves to travel.

Dr. Alex Pisig

Dr. Alex Pisig, a specialist in Adult Retinal Diseases and Vitreoretinal Surgery, has recently joined the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as a full-time Ophthalmologist in the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Pisig brings extensive expertise in ophthalmology. He completed his Medical Retina Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He then pursued Surgical Retina training at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he further honed his skills as a Retina Surgeon.
His academic journey also includes a research fellowship at the University of Hawai‘i, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Pisig is passionate about traveling, sports, and music, and is an avid musician himself.

Dr. Josée Malette

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Josée Malette has recently joined the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre as a full-time Emergency Medicine Specialist in the Department of Emergency/Trauma Medicine.
Dr. Malette completed her Doctor of Medicine at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University. She is currently enhancing her expertise through a Simulation Education Fellowship at the University of Ottawa and pursuing a Master of Science in Health Quality at Queen’s University.
Dr. Malette has demonstrated a strong commitment to medical education and quality improvement, having served as a Clinical Skills Preceptor and Emergency Medicine Educator. Her dedication to patient care and community involvement makes her a valuable addition to our team.
