With Lisa Beck’s impending Spring 2023 retirement, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Johnson as the Director, Trauma Program, Critical Care, Emergency, Respiratory Services & Nurse Led Outreach Team, effective May 26, 2023.
Reporting to myself, Chad will be responsible for optimal patient care and the delivery of high quality service within Prehospital, Trauma, Injury Prevention, Nurse Led Outreach Team and Upsala Nursing Station, Emergency Services, Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Treatment Centre, Critical Care and Respiratory Services.
In his role Chad will work to advance Strategic Plan 2026 priorities, including Substance Use and Addictions Strategies, Coordination and Support of Frequent Users and Emergency Department Workplace Violence Strategies, while managing a busy and complex portfolio.
Chad is well known to the staff and professional staff at TBRHSC as the current Manager, Critical Care Services, a role he has held since 2018. In 2016, Chad obtained his Master of Science (MSN) in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana, with a commitment to lifelong learning, Chad recently completed a management program through the University of Toronto. Chad is a strong advocate of academic pursuits. In Chad’s current role, he has led the advancements of organ and tissue donation and optimization of critical care services across NW Ontario via the Regional Critical Care Response (RCCR) program.
Within our institution prior to his role as Manager, Critical Care Services, Chad was an RN in the ICU and then advanced to the role of CNS, Trauma, Critical Care and Neurosurgical Services while maintaining a faculty position at Durham College.
