Getting on the Right track

In order to deliver the Right care at the Right time, we need the Right plan.

The Right Plan is a transitional strategic plan that will enhance our Hospital’s performance while the new health system structure is determined. It’s an opportunity to focus on the overarching priorities that have the most significant impact on our Hospital, our patients and their families.

“Having such a focused plan is important. When we know as an organization what we are focusing on and why, it brings people together so that everyone is equally inspired and working from the same page,” said Amanda Bjorn, Executive Vice President of People, Culture and Strategy. “This kind of understanding keeps us from getting distracted on other projects, and keeps our primary focus on the patient’s journey of care.”

In order for the Right Plan to be successful, we also need the Right people.

“Our staff are key to caring for our patients. They know what is happening and what our patients really need because they interact with them every day. We want staff to be involved, so we are focusing on them as the people who do the work, to guide the development of our new plan,” said Bjorn. “Through this process we have an opportunity to really look at how we as an organization can better care for staff, so they can care for our patients to the best of their abilities. Healthy, happy staff result in healthy, happy patients.”

The development process will involve looking at our staff’s journey, in addition to our patient’s, so we can identify any gaps that exist, and address them. “We need to ensure that our patients, and our staff, get the care they need, when they need it. We truly believe that this is the Right thing to do, and the Right time to do it,” said Bjorn.
